For nine years the siege of Troy has dragged on, and life outside the city gates is tough for the Greek army, stuck in their tents and huts, in the scorching heat, with constant raids by Trojans who’ll kill anyone they can, servants or not...
Nios, who works for the brutal Alkimos, has had enough. The people around him – apart from his good friend Pallas – are enough to drive anyone mad. His only ambition is to get back to his Greek island home. But how? How? There’s no way back across the sea, there’s nowhere to run, it’s hopeless. Unless... slowly, a plan begins to form in his mind. Maybe it could work, though no one else seems to think so. ( )
