This book caught my eye from the library's New Nonfiction display shelf. Mostly I just skimmed, looking at pictures and captions. I like the converted barns, exposed wood, window seats, slanted ceilings (eaves), and built-in bookshelves of course. I also like how the stove or fireplace is a focal point in nearly every room that has one, and how many of the kitchens have long counters and deep sinks, and islands with stools or tables with benches in the center of the room. Generally I preferred the setups of the "simple," "eclectic," and "rustic" to the "elegant" Irish (those are the four sections of the book). ( )
