X-Force's existence is leaked to the press, but in the ensuing battle, Dark Angel is released from the mind prison Psylocke established and takes the wheel. Then there's a throw-away issue with Magneto asking Wolverine to do him a favor (killing a former Nazi), which Wolverine does without asking any questions. Then comes the beginning of the Dark Angel saga. Basically, they need a "life seed" to keep Dark Angel from becoming the next Apocalypse. Dark Beast states that he has one in his laboratory - in the Age of Apocalypse alternate world. X-Force goes into AoA, but they're stranded. A lot of fighting ensues.

I didn't think this trade was as good as the first two in the series, mainly because it's mostly fighting and less character building. Plus most of it takes place in the Age of Apocalypse, and I haven't gotten around to reading that yet. I'm sure it's probably more interesting to those who are already knowledgeable about that universe. Still, it's not bad, and I'm going to buzz through the next trade tonight to see what happens. ( )
