The purpose of this book is to look afresh at the scriptural teaching about gifts. In the light of this teaching, why have many churches failed to recognise God’s provision for effective ministry?

Dr Michael Griffiths argues that ‘these wretched little quotation marks have become divisive and sectarian. Can we not search the Scriptures together in such a way that we come close to agreement about what the Lord has given us for the perfecting and up-building of the church? We should, he urges, seek the Lord’s serving grace.
