Stuck on Falara, a world far from her original home, Laela is given powers by the Trestrians, a beautiful alien race, in a way that frightens and traumatizes her. Unable to renounce the powers she is given, she leads her cohorts in assisting with the settlement of their new home, Falara.

But they are being stalked by an enemy that has searched throughout the universe for them a long time and Laela is told of a vision that names her as part of the salvation for two worlds. In order to protect both of their people, Laela must overcome her fear of the Trestrians and ally with their Emperor in a battle to save their planets from the enemy that stalks them all.
