I like quilling (“paper filigree”), love Yulia Brodskaya’s work (in O Magazine and elsewhere), and love journals -- so was thrilled to find this.

The quilling aspect is somewhat disappointing -- Yulia's work is phenomenal, and beautifully reproduced, but there's less of it than I'd expected, altogether only eight pages of snippets (four two-page spreads), repeated over and over to make the 192-page book. Still, it’s a nice journal -- stiff paperback covers; a stitched binding that can be pressed open to nearly flat; and mostly lined pages with some open white space for drawing. ( )
