This book is a departure from the fun and frothy Rachael Hale books filled with skillfully taken photographs of adorable animals. While I liked those books very much, I felt ready for something a bit more from Rachael Hale and apparently she felt ready for the same thing. The French Cat is a mature, thoughtful look at a beautiful country and its cats. Beauty and joy emanate from the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing where the photographer takes me next with her camera. ( )
