Poetry4kids.com is an interactive site that has many different poems and activities for kids. The site is rendered in bright colors, with cartoon drawings for the different poems. The site offers many different sections; there are games, funny poems, popular poems. videos about poems, poetry news, poetry books, lesson plans about poetry, a rhyming dictionary, and more. The website is easy to navigate, and would be a great place for teachers and parents to find amusing poetry for elementary aged children. Best of all, all the poetry is free and free from copyright, as long as no profits are made from its use. None of the poems are very long, though, and they are all funny, so users looking for poetry on more serious topics or looking for long form poetry will not be served by this resource. Additionally, there are no poems except rhyming ones, so people looking for poems such as haikus or free verse will also not find use in this resource. ( ) The archived selection of poems from Poetry4Kids.com leaves you wanting more. Many of his poems are humorous with a funny twist at the end, while others simply take you to a pleasant place. In addition to poems, visitors can hear songs made from the original poems of Kenn Nesbitt. The site is pretty extensive, and Kenn's newest poems are prominently featured on the home page. The site could do however without the advertisements spread throughout the layout, taking away from the actual content of the site. The site does give poetry lessons, contests, contains a rhyming dictionary, news, surveys, links and more. I highly recommend this site for home use and possibly even at school for kids age 7 - 10. no reviews | add a review
