I liked this book for many reason. The writing style of the book is that of informational text. there were short paragraphs with brief informational about the specific weather topic, but the book is mainly full of text features that allow readers to best understand the text and what is weather. Captions, bold text, titles, subtitles, glossary, and table of contents. These features really assist children to decode the text and understand it. The illustrations are essential for children to understand examples of these weather patterns. Photographs, diagrams and drawings are great illustrations for the children to use to put meaning to the text. The main idea of this book is just to explain weather in terms for children to understand. ( )

This is a really cool book. The author worked with former National Geographic Explorer Tim Samaras to discuss how weather impacts our lives. Math problems (note round up the number for the math answer), movies, it is just a cool book. And the essay by Tim on why he does his work...this book is for all ages and anyone who wants to be a weather geek. ( )
