A friend gave me both Seasons of Dead Like Me, a short-running series that ran on Showtime. She loved it and thought I would too--and I did. It centers on Georgia "George" Lass who is only 18 years old at the time of her death--she dies from getting hit by a space toilet. Yes, she does right in the first episode! But she's not done, you see, because now she's become a "Reaper" taking souls who die in accidents, murder and suicide. There is a rather dark comedy running through this yes, but like Buffy, it mixes comedy with more serious themes. And dead she might be, this show really is about George growing up. And the supporting cast, particularly Mandy Patinkin, is fabulous. I'm so sorry the series ended with this season. ( )
