Nice addition to the Stone Barrington series about detective work, crime, and wealthy. ( )

As a Stone Barrington novel, this is an easy, comfortable read. Not quite as full of flash and intrigue as previous Barrington stories I've read, but if you've become fond of this character, you'll enjoy this novel as well.

In the course of the story, a bad guy is vanquished, a good girl saved and loads of bucks spread around as Barrington hobnobs with beautiful dancers, cops and the mega-rich.

The characters are well known to Woods readers, the story flows well and sufficient details are provided to draw clear scenes and let you know the class of people populating this novel.

Unlike many of Wood's novels, this is more laid back and formulaic. There are no surprises, thus making this novel easy, mindless entertainment. ( )

I won a copy from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
Reminded me a lot of a James Patterson book because of the fast chapters, easy to read, and fairly formulaic plot that all worked out in the end. It was good enough for me to read the entire thing and even be a bit interested in reading the series from the beginning to learn more about the characters since this is the 1st book I've read from the series.. So that is a plus. ( )

Typical Stone Barrington novel. Stone, Dino and Herbie are involved with wealthy clients with troubled kids but the clients always seem to make Stone richer and Dino always has Stone's help in catching the bad guys. I'm done with Stone -- it's the same thing over and over. ( )

Haiku summary

When a hedge fund billionaire hires Stone Barrington to talk some sense into his wayward son, it seems like an easy enough job; no one knows the hidden sins and temptations of the ultra-wealthy better than Stone. But as Stone and his erstwhile protege, Herbie Fisher, probe deeper into the case--and an old one comes back to haunt him---he realizes that even he may have underestimated just how far some people will go to cover up their crimes...and plan new ones.… (more)
