I really enjoyed this book. It is a short, non- fiction chapter book for young students. Chapter one is called, “Fall Begins.” In this chapter, the reader learns all about the first day of fall, which beings on September 22nd or 23rd. This chapter also explains that during fall, “each day is a little shorter than the day before.” The text features are amazing. Some of the words in the text are larger than others, for example, “Every morning, the sun rises later.” This really helps the reader clearly understand the key parts of the book. Chapter two is called “Changing Weather.” In this chapter, the author talks about how the weather changes from warm to cold and what type of clothing is needed during the months: September, October and November. Chapter three is called “Weather Chart.” Everyday the class records the amount of rainfall and temperature. There are also cute captions on leaves! It is an adorable touch. The final chapter is called, “Fall Ends.” This chapter talks about the transition from fall into winter. At the end of the book, there is an activity that explains to students “How to Make a Rain Gauge” and a glossary. Both of these are great features to the book! There is no overall message, as it is a non-fiction book about fall. Overall, it is a great read! ( )

This is a chapter book for children depicting the fall season. It starts by describing the beginning of fall, and the length of the days during the season. In the second chapter, it describes how the weather changes. The students in the story also observe the temperature during fall, and compare their results with other schools throughout the country. The story ends with the end of the fall season, and the beginning of winter. The book also features side notes and definitions for students. ( )
