This is a great book about a tree that does not understand why she has to change with the seasons. The tree is a girl name Trudy and she is a great character. She has friends that teach her that change is inevitable and she should not worry so much. In the end Trudy listens to her friends advise and has a wonderful experience with change. This is a great book for children in nursery school through second grade. This book would be grat in the classroom to:
-talk to children about change
-talk about fantasy and reality
-discuss why trees really do change
-talk about personification
-ask what would happen if Trudy didn't change
-ask how Trudy's friends helped her
