Donald Bodey gives an upclose and personal view of what it is like to be an infantryman in the Vietnam war. the language is vivid and beautiful. Bodey can really write. One gets to know Peacock, the Prophet, Callmeblack and Eltee. It is a brutal experience on the ground, in the rain, with the enemy always a threat. ( )
