Surprisingly, this book of Christmas letters has the ability to draw the reader in with glimpses of the Flanders family's experiences as they grow and change. These are not your average annual "brag sheets" or 1 page newsletters that just briefly review each family member's recent achievements and activities. Rather they are snatches and stories from a wife and mother's perspective of family life- her family's. An enjoyable, leisurely read. ( )

I received this through LibraryThing and found it an interesting read. Fascinating in some ways -- from the point of view of a non-christian, non-American, childless woman it's like finding out about aliens, so different is this way of life. But the letters are so well written it really allows you to share their lives; enjoy the good times, share the not-so-good times and generally peek through their windows. I can recommend this book for anyone who enjoys biographies as well as home-schoolers -- especially christian ones. ( )
