Perhaps the best of the Beany Malone series. During Beany's eventful senior year in high school, a close friend dies and Beany must watch her boyfriend, Andy, deal with grief without being able to help him much. Beany's brother Johnny, in love with the wrong girl, is in a different kind of trouble. This book deals with serious subjects in a way that's easy for teenagers to relate to. (
