This one almost made me give up after a couple of chapters. It is a little too cliched on some levels and filled with some stereotypical characters. But I stuck it out and the interest picked up as the plot grew more and more complicated. In the end, the series of mysterious events and suspects may keep you guessing all the way to the end. There are some effective scenes and the book creates a fairly good atmosphere necessary for this type of "escape" literature.

This was originally published in 1947 as Edward Ronns, then reprinted in 1964 in the midst of Aarons' long series of Sam Durrell books. ( )
