Work detailsHidden Child of the Holocaust: A True Story by Stacy Cretzmeyer
00000857 Your Name is Renee is the first person account of a young Jewish child who witnesses the chilling events in France during the Nazi occupation, and the courage of the villagers who risk their lives to protect her family (from the back cover). The diary your name is Renee encompasses a little girl during worl war two. In the beginnin ruth struggles with having to pretetnd to be french. This book tells of the hardships a young girl name ruth must pretend to be french to survive the war. by the end ruth has learned that life is unfair but we musnt give up. Another story of the atrocities of WWII and the Jewish people. Ruth wasn't allowed to be called by her real name, but had to go by the name Renee so she wouldn't be found out. She and her family had to keep moving around and she had to spend time away from her family to keep safe. Thank goodness for the people who were able to help and protect families. A story that gives a clear view from a child's stand point. Also a great telling of how heroic the catholic church was in many cases, and what lengths the Nuns went to, to save children. no reviews | add a review
