The main purpose of this book is to educate students about fire fighters and different aspect of a fire house. With that said, I believe this book does a great job at describing those different aspects for elementary kids. I really liked how the photos/ pictures go hand in hand with the text and offer a realistic view of whats being described. On great instance of this is when the book describes the uniform of the fire fighters which is supplemented with a picture of a uniform with captions labeling each part. I could definitely see this being used in a role playing or job (what do you want to be when you grow up) type lesson. ( )
