Decisamente migliore rispetto al primo libro della serie, in quanto la storia risulta molto più vivace e coinvolgente.
Per non sposare l’anziano e ripugnante Lord Clifton la giovane e bella Maddie scappa di casa con l’intenzione di diventare l’amante del famoso attore Logan Scott che, al contrario, non intende farsi coinvolgere in una qualsiasi relazione.
Una lettura facile, veloce e piacevole ma di certo non esattamente all’altezza dei migliori libri della Kleypas.

I just re-read Because You're Mine by Lisa Kleypas and loved it all over again. Originally published in 1997 I discovered it in a used book store a few years ago. I read any of Ms Kleypas work that I can but I do have my favorites, Logan and Maddy's story is one.

Logan Scott is a true self-made man. He came from a nothing background with horrible parents but managed to turn himself into a star. The handsome Mr. Scott is an actor of great renown, owns his own theater, and has dedicated himself to his art. Of course, that also means when he leaves the theater there's no outside life waiting for him.

Lady Madeline Matthews parents have promised her hand in marriage to a man who is 2 years older than her father! He needs a new, young, wife to produce an heir, his late wife only had girls (of all the nerve). She runs away from boarding school to make her way to London, gets a job at the theater and proceeds to get under Logan's skin. She thinks if she's no longer a virgin then the nasty old man won't have her.

There's twists and turns, denial, acceptance, redemption, marriage, a baby and lots of love. It's a good story and one I think other fans of Ms Kleypas shouldn't miss. Happy reading. ( )

I like Kleypas' writing but this is not one of her better books. Maddie and Logan spend the first half of the book lying to each other. She is a runaway from an arranged marriage to an much older nobleman and Logan is a cold, calculating actor avoiding romantic entanglements. He comes down with a mysterious fever and she nurses him back to health and he realizes how much he cares for her but she now feels guilty for lying to him. Lots of miscommunication before their happily ever after. ( )
