Book description
This collection contains 51 complete traditional and well-loved Mother Goose nursery rhymes. It's bound in a sturdy hardcover and has a table of contents showing the title and page number of each rhyme. The rhymes are illustrated by Aleksey and Olga Ivanov. The illustrations match up well with the text, each rhyme having its own picture or set of pictures. The illustrations are colorful and appealing. Larger characters and objects tell the story quickly, while smaller details amuse the focused eye.

In terms of the purity of Mother Goose rhymes, I prefer this book over "Mother Goose on the Loose". "The Tall Book of Mother Goose" is more comprehensive and contains more completed rhymes. The illustrations in "Mother Goose on the Loose" may be more appealing to younger readers due to the use of animals. The illustrations in this book are appropriate, but may be geared more towards older readers.
