I really enjoyed this short read by Donna Fasano. It was my first novel by her, but it definitely will not be my last. I found the novel to be sweet, interesting and the characters well developed. ( )

On her wedding day Savanna runs away from Danny. Several years later she returns to the small town where she grew up and tries to fix things.

I've read this plot before, it is not original, but this author does an OK job of telling the story even if it is rather predictable. Danny holds a grudge (not surprisingly) and Savanna feels that the efforts she made to explain what was going on in her head were sufficient - it transpires that an important letter went astray. Savanna's efforts to reengage with Danny include fundraising for the local hospital. Danny doesn't trust Savanna not to run away again and so is uncooperative. I'm pretty sure that you can work out the ending !

The story IS predictable but it is well enough told. There is nothing in this book that will challenge the reader or linger in the mind but it is an enjoyable enough, light read. ( )

Book description
Once upon a time...

There lived a lovely young woman named Savanna who was engaged to Daniel, a handsome law student. Theirs was to be a fairy-tale wedding. But Savanna's second thoughts were too big to be ignored, so the would-be bride ran away.

As the years passed...

Daniel's heart turned to ice. It was this unfeeling man that Savanna faced upon her return. The love of her youth was now a stranger. Could Savanna ever make Daniel understand why she abandoned him? And could she convince the man of her dreams he would always be her Prince Charming?
