Book description
Autobiographical account of the author's attempts at becoming an Orthodox monk. Loverdo, from a prominent Greek family, was sent in 1930 at the age of 9 or 10 to St. Paul's Monastery on Mt. Athos, Greece, to receive monastic training in view of eventually becoming a bishop. He left the monastery after a couple of years, but after WWII returned and again attempted the monastic life, but just wasn't cut out for it. He later went to France and worked as a journalist there.
