A feisty American journalist, Mattie McGary, and her lawyer/adventurer lover, Bourke Cochran, become involved in a strange murder conspiracy in 1930s America and Europe. Naked bodies drained of blood and with their eyeballs stolen are found across America. The conspiracy leads to the increasingly powerful Nazi Party in Germany and involves ‘mad’ scientists performing eugenics experiments to create a master race.

This is crazier than a bagful of ferrets, but not unentertaining. Advertised as a ‘Winston Churchill Thriller’ the great man himself plays only a walk-on part, although this is crucial to the plot.

The McMenamins are published historians with a special focus on Churchill and the historical components of place and politics feel very real. The adventure stuff often feels like a reprint from some dime novel. Quite a bit more sex than one would expect from respected journalists, historians and academics. ( )

In the third book of the Winston Churchill Thriller series, there are mutilated bodies showing up in various places in the United States. Churchill's niece, Mattie McGary, and her lover, Bourke Cockran Junior, are assigned to track down the serial killer. What they find leads them to Germany where the Nazi Party is rising to power.

This is a story about how the British slowed Nazi scientists’ plans to create a super race. ( )

The cover says a lot for a book, sometimes, and when i received this book, i was instantly drawn to it.
I ended up starting to read this before I wanted to start, and ended up shoving a couple others to the side.
Whatever you want, I promise, this book has it. I have never read a book that included a little bit of everything, much like this one.
History, thriller, crime, romance, A Winston Churchill Thriller, is what the bottom of the cover says, and well, yeah, that's it. It's one of a kind.
There are so many crazy things going on all at once, divorces on one page, cheating, then you come to this true horror when you start to read about the woman who will be getting here eyeballs cut out, really? Awesome in my book!
They didn't wait to start this story, the second I opened it up, BOOM, there it was, and the fast paced, heart pounding action, never slowed down. Amazing book, and I am excited to read the first 2 in this series!
It really doesn't matter if you are a fan of Churchill, or how you feel about Nazis, eugenics, this truly imaginative and witty, and odd look into Churchill, that really starts to make you wonder, adventure, will have you begging for more as soon as you hit the last page! ( )

The third book in the trilogy featuring Bourke Cockram and heroine Matty McGarry. This time the year is 1932 and Winston Churchill has again received, through his intelligence network, the answer to the mystery of why naked bodies with their eyeballs extracted and drained of blood lies in Germany.

Churchill informs William Hearst and he them assigns Mattie McGarry to investigate with her love Bourke Cockran. They discover that all the victims were twins and ten more missing sets of twins have been moved to Bavaria where the 'autops protocols' were due to start in ten days.

On arriving in Munich, Cockran and McGarry make an alliance with an unlikely source and they lead them to a sinister Nazi clinic in Bavaria. Can they save the twins and expose the project that has been undertaken?

The story revolves around the controversial issue of eugenics, which is the science of improving the population by controlled breeding for desirable inherited characteristics. Winston Churchill once supported sterilization of mental defectives as a method of securing their release from state institutions in 1910-12. Even though Britain never passed these laws 26 US states passed the law for the compulsory sterilization and through the 1930's 35,878 men and women were sterilized or castrated. The Nazis adopted the policy in 1933 when they gained power.

The story based around the issues and the power that certain individuals had and the secrets they kept are immense. The writings again are easily read and understood , the thought provoking issues raised will question your beliefs and will touch your emotions.

An excellent read and brilliant follow up novel to the Parsifal Pursuit. A very clever title The Gemini Agenda, obviously Gemini being the sign of the twins. ( )

A historical thriller so gripping, so intriguing you’ll have a hard time putting it down.

The McMenamin’s have done it again. Their Winston Churchill thriller series is set against a tumultuous time; pre-WW2. So much of the fiction is set against the background of true history and true characters that it will also challenge you to tell the difference. Hitler was evil and so was what he did. You could easily believe that experiments on twins was something that really happened.

When Churchill hear about strange and horrific murders involving twins he is certain the murders would lead back to Germany. He enlists photojournalist Matty McGary and her lover Bourke Cockran Jr. to find out what’s going on. Churchill really did have a vast intelligence network and he really was a man of adventure. Add in two exciting heroes and some romance and this book is sure to please.
