This is the third book in the dark Tide series of mermaids living both on land and in the sea. I have not read the previous two books and meet these characters for the first time. The Character of Addison Lonike could be developed a little more than it is. Although she is a strong willed woman I do not know her as well as the book describes her sister Gwen. Mason is a Navy Captain married to the Sea and his career. Both characters but especially Mason are weakened or injured often in the book. Gwen to the rescue. There is only one love scene and much story development and culmination. ( )
