Arthur decided to stop wearing his glass because he keeps teased, but everything goes wrong when he accidentally goes into the girls room. This would a great book when I am discussing bullying. It was yet another good Marc Brown book. ( )

This book is about a character named Authur and he has trouble at school with seeing and reading. One of his classmates asked him if he was blind. No one wanted to play or interact with Arthur because of that reason. His parents took him to see a doctor and he got a pair of glasses. He could see now. Then, when Arthur went to school, he ran into some problems. The kids made fun of him because of the glasses so he stopped wearing them. He would walk into places that he wasn't suppose to go because he couldn't see and other things. At the end of the story, he finally finds someone that wears glasses to and his feelings of being ashamed for having glasses soon vanished. Everyone didn't make fun of him anymore.

This book was about Arthur and his eyes. Arthur couldnt see well atl all and he sometimes got headaches. He couldnt read, see the board, and no one ever wanted to play with him. So his mom and dad took him to the eye doctor and he said Arthur needed glasses. The next day when he went to school everyone made fun of him. No one wore glasses at school or at home so he just decided he would lose his glasses so he wouldnt have to wear them. His mother found them and told him he better no lose or break them. The next day at school Arthus hid his glasses he went to the restroom and had to count the doors. He walked into the girls restroom instead of the boys. The principal took Arthus to his office. Arthurs teacher told him he wore glasses to. so the next day he wore his glasses to school and could read the board, shoot basketball, and he got all his problems right. The next day at school he saw Francine and she had fake glasses on. She just wanted to wear some because they made her beautiful and she could concentrate.

The book is about Authur not being able to see but not wanting to wear glasses because no one else in his class wears them. Then he finds out the teacher wears them so he begins to wear them again. He gets better in gym and in the classroom. The next day at school more people have glasses that don't even have glass in them because they want to wear glasses too.

“Arthur’s Eyes” written by Marc Brown is a great story for elementary students. In this story, the main character, Arthur, was having trouble seeing; his parents took him to the eye doctor and he discovered that Arthur needed glasses. Arthur liked his glasses at first, but then his peers started making fun of Arthur; he was very upset and pretended to lose his glasses. By the end of the story, with his teacher’s help, Arthur decided that glasses were not so bad, and he convinced others that glasses are actually cool. This book is suitable for elementary students of all ages, because of the message.
