The author's voice was more annoying than that of any other YA book I've read, but I can appreciate how much it meant to him to be able to publish the hardest year of his life. You're able to root ... ... two are out, although I forgot the name of the second title...).
If the group is mixed and nonfiction would appeal, The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon should prompt very good discussion. Warning: it's very graphic in parts and disturbing, but very profound. The Burn Journalsby Brent Runyon it was so painful to read that I just couldn't finish it.
