This book is ludicrous and I would have adored it as a kid. 7th grader Lenny's best friend Casper purchases a very convincing fake mustache that for some reason has the power of mind control. He uses it to rob a bank and ultimately run for president. Lenny is the only person who can see through the disguise. Along the way he gets help from Jodie O'Rodeo, a TV star who sings and rides a horse. It's not a long book, but it's extremely silly and fun even for this adult reader. ( )

Funny, easy read with some twists and turns. If you liked the Origami Yoda books, you will probably like this one. ( )

Lenny's best friend purchases a mustache at a novelty shop that enables him to quickly assume world domination. As you can imagine, this is a ridiculously mad caper as Lenny, in league with child TV star Jodeo O'Rodeo, tries to prevent Casper from ruining the world. One for the boys, reluctant readers, and anyone who appreciates slapstick hijinks. ( )

A quick, wacky read about a 7th grader who tries to take over the world using a brainwashing fake mustache. Grades 4-6. ( )

Gr 4-8, Looking for a zany read? This is definitely it! It all started when Casper bought the most luscious fake mustache, the Heidelberg Handlebar #7. But this mustache has special hypnotic powers, that transforms Casper into an evil mastermind seeking world domination. What is his friend Lenny Flem, Jr. to do? How will he save his friend Casper, and the rest of the world? From the author who brought us The Strange Case of Origami Yoda series, he has added to his funny and wacky list of titles. Peppered with text messages, e-mails, and illustrations Fake Mustache is a fast-paced read great for reluctant readers. It is a fun book, but nothing exceptionally extraordinary, aside from the mustache. ( )
