Funny, easy read with some twists and turns. If you liked the Origami Yoda books, you will probably like this one. ( )

Lenny's best friend purchases a mustache at a novelty shop that enables him to quickly assume world domination. As you can imagine, this is a ridiculously mad caper as Lenny, in league with child TV star Jodeo O'Rodeo, tries to prevent Casper from ruining the world. One for the boys, reluctant readers, and anyone who appreciates slapstick hijinks. ( )

A quick, wacky read about a 7th grader who tries to take over the world using a brainwashing fake mustache. Grades 4-6. ( )

Gr 4-8, Looking for a zany read? This is definitely it! It all started when Casper bought the most luscious fake mustache, the Heidelberg Handlebar #7. But this mustache has special hypnotic powers, that transforms Casper into an evil mastermind seeking world domination. What is his friend Lenny Flem, Jr. to do? How will he save his friend Casper, and the rest of the world? From the author who brought us The Strange Case of Origami Yoda series, he has added to his funny and wacky list of titles. Peppered with text messages, e-mails, and illustrations Fake Mustache is a fast-paced read great for reluctant readers. It is a fun book, but nothing exceptionally extraordinary, aside from the mustache. ( )

I loved Angleberger’s Origami Yoda series, and was pleased to see this on the list of nominees for the Sasquatch Award in Washington State. As a librarian I was pleased to see our profession being represented by librarians who know ninja kicks. It is all because of the fake mustache Casper, Lenny’s genius friend bought. Now Casper has turned into a bank robber accumulating millions of dollars in his quest to be president. The humor is definitely for kids! I had kids waiting for it before it was ready to check out and I bet they’ll like it much more than I did. (grade 3-6) ( )
