Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0060193433, Hardcover)

It's 4:30 a.m., Newwark, New Jersey.  In an apartment in the projects, a man in a black leather jacket stands over a bed where another man is fast asleep.  The sleeper is a fugitive.  The man standing over him wears a black baseball cap worn backward  and pulled down low over his brow.  A black man covers the lower half of his face.  He had just picked the lock on the apartment door and quietly let himself in.  He is bounty hunter Joshua Armstrong.  In his pocket he has the paperwork authorizing him to arrest this man; in his hand he has a Glock 9mm semiautomatic. He takes a deep cleansing breath and lets it out slowly to center himself before he whips the covers off the sleeping man's body.

Wake up," he says firmly.

The startled fugitive blinks and coughs. Then he notices the masked face looming over him, and his eyes shoot open.  Armstrong turns on a light to make sure that the man sees his gun.

The fugitive is breathing hard, clutching his chest.

"Get up and get dressed," says Joshua. "We have to go".

The man shakes his head, trying to make sense of this apparition.  "Who sent you here?" he asks.

You sent me here.  Now come on, let's go."

With an 85 percent capture rate-much higher than any of his fellow bounty hunters, the police, or the US Marshals Service-the Seekers have hunted down fugitives throughout the county, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

After working in Alaska as one of the first Black fisherman to troll the treacherous waters of the Bering Sea, Armstrong took up bounty hunting in the Pacific Northwest.  There he realized that there was a need for a different kind of bounty hunter.  The Seekers were born-as was a life of deadly adventure.

The Seekers: A Bounty Hunter's Story re-creates Armstrong's most daring cases, including the infiltration of a Columbian drug lord's mansion, the intensive search for a mad bomber, the team effort to find a fugitive in just forty-eight hours, the nearly fatal ambush in the backwoods of South Carolina, the shootout in Philadelphia, and the hunt for Armstrong's own cousin.

Combining hard-hitting action, gripping storytelling, and an inspiring personal story, The Seekers: A Bounty Hunter's Story chronicles Joshua Armstrong's quest for spiritual growth and enlightment while "seeking" America's most wanted.
