The illustrations are all taken from Latin volume 276 in the Urbino collection of the Vatican Library. I would have loved to know what creatures the medieval mind thought they were drawing as I gazed at the pictures, and the bible verses were an unnecessary addition. The date on the original MS should be prior to the 1660's, when the urbino library was donated to the Vatican, but I haven't been able to narrow it down further. ( )
