3,5 stars. I like Heidi Cullinan's writing very much, but this one was just a little too much.

Too much tortured heros, too much angst, too much drama. Pretty much every character in this book has a traumatic past/present (twice child abuse/rape, being witness to rape/abuse/torture as a child, neglect, emotional cruelty etc....) - it was just too much for me. So many sad stories in one book. And then the HEA with the convenient suicide of the main villain. Bham.
I will go on reading her books, because I like her writing very much, but this one was just not right for me.

He finds the orchid, yes...but he finds something else even more rare and exquisite: Michael Vannant, professional sodomite.… (more)
