None. Wow. This book was so much fun! I genuinely loved and enjoyed reading it, especially the first half of the story. ReVamped is a very interesting and unique take on the vampire genre. Just when I think I couldn't possibly stand one more vampire book, novels like this one and The Immortal Rules start popping up and changing my mind. Ada Adams has definitely given us something new to read and I was left quite impressed by the end. The genre may be getting saturated but clearly some authors still have something new to offer us. At nineteen, Dawn is slightly older than usual YA protagonists. She's been trained all her life by her father, who is the ''Vampire President'' and somewhat emotionally distant. At the beginning, I wasn't sure what to make of Dawn. On one hand, she thinks like she's way older than 19 (probably due to her upbringing) but on the other hand, she seems very naive and unaware of regular teenager stuff. I really grew to like her as the story went on and found she got easier to relate to. She doesn't let things get in her way and has a very determined spirit which is really admirable! This book is jam-packed full of action and mystery. It really keeps you on your toes the whole way through. I read it in a couple of hours and barely looked up from it once. I just needed to know more! I really enjoyed following Dawn as she learned more about herself and her family and really didn't see most of it coming. I liked that it was unpredictable as it really keeps you rushing forward. Adams is a brilliant writer. Her writing is smooth and engaging. It was actually quite a pleasure just to read and get lost in. I loved the world that ReVamped is set in. Humans know about vampires and have more than accepted them- they've embraced them! I loved all the pop culture references, including the vampire fad being the reason for it being easy for vampires to come out of hiding after so many centuries. Lots of little things about this world made me laugh and I had a smirk on my face for most of the first half. It was really clever and enjoyable! I would recommend this to any vampire fans who are looking for something a bit difficult. I think Morganville Vampires fans would love this one- I sure did! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. All views expressed are my own. Love this book i will give the cover and the book 5 out of 5. Every chapter takes you on the road to uncover a new mystery. The book is full of surprises, you will imagine one things and then the surprise is completely different. Love the way that the author describes each character and main event happening in the book. Nobody will imagine how the book will end, but what i love about this book is that Ada Adams wrote this book in a way that you have (and will die wanting) to read it from the begging to the end to be able understand the whole book and realized how amazing is the ending. This is one of the few books that i could not put it down since i start reading it, is very captivating. Is not like all the other vampire books, trust me, everything is different and knew. From the powers to life they are having. This book you must read it, you wont regret. I fell in love with this book from chapter one! I love vampire books in general, but this one is just so much fun. In the first chapter we meet our heroine, Dawn, the vampire president's very sheltered daughter who longs to go out into the world. We also learn about current vampire events, such as the vampires becoming public and how they're viewed as celebrities. There's also mentions of some of the new reality TV shows (Transylvania Shore!) which had me grinning from ear to ear. ReVamped is a fun and refreshing addition to the vampire genre that will leave you with a smile on your face. Dawn's first trip away from home is a mission to assemble a new team of guardians for the small town of Angel Creek. There's four very different vampires she must round up: a preppy cheerleader, a quiet librarian, an alcoholic ex-rockstar, and a video game nerd. She definitely has a lot of work to do to get this group ready! Then there's the mysterious fifth vampire, Sebastian, who wants nothing to do with society, human or vampire. When a local human gets kidnapped by rogue vampires, Dawn must whip this unruly group into shape! There's some interesting twists and turns along the way that I was not expecting at all! The story is most definitely unique and I enjoyed every page. I adored Dawn! She's super sweet, caring, determined, fierce and I loved witnessing her blossom into a strong woman. ReVamped is lighthearted, fun, and has claimed a special place in my vampire-loving heart! I had such a good time reading it that I can overlook any inconsistencies and typos that stood out to me. It didn't effect my enjoyment of the book, so why dwell on it?! There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, action, and a bit of romance. If you're looking for a quick, super enjoyable read, this is definitely it! So as we all know the vampire phenomenon has taken the world by storm and there are plenty of books out there with vampire love stories, we have read about sparkling vampires, and vampires who fall in love with humans all that good stuff. I have been an avid reader of the vampire series that continue to come out so you can rest assured that this review is honest and accurate when I say; this was such a refreshing book. ‘Revamped’ brought something absolutely new to this genre. I loved the characters, I loved how fresh and new the idea was, it was really captivating. I haven’t read anything like ‘Revamped’ I mean this book has the vampire living out in the open with humans, it has a vampire president, and vampire products that are found in grocery stores such as Blood Cola and Blood Vodka. They aren’t very fond of feeding from the live source anymore of course. It was more about the story of the main character and her mission not a love story and that’s what I really loved, I mean does every single vampire book have to be a love story, I think not! It was just beautifully creative, the way this book was written. It kept me on the edge of my seat, the story plot kept thickening with twists and turns. It was such a thrilling book, I could easily see a series being made out of this book and it being huge. ‘Revamped’ is the next big thing in vampire books. I would keep your eyes on Ada Adams because she has created something massively powerful here. Wonderful, refreshing, inspiring, absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend it for all you vampire followers out there! A big five stars for ‘Revamped’! no reviews | add a review

Actually, of all of the vampire novels I have read, ReVamped reminds me most of a mix of the Sookie Stackhouse series and The Reformed Vampire Support Group. The parts that reminded me of the former were largely in the organization of the vampires. They have a government, both local and national, although obviously not kings and queens here. In Adams' world as in Harris', the vampires have gone public. In both, this led to the production of non-human blood sources. Although, I definitely think that the vamps in ReVamped have a better deal, since they have tons of blood drinks to choose from, including Blood Vodka. Awesome.
As for the latter novel, which I didn't much like, the ragtag group of not very vampiric vampires was what brought it to mind. Of course, I didn't much like that book. Thankfully, ReVamped did that angle way better, because these characters did actually seem to grow and change through the novel. Plus, ReVamped was actually funny, and not just descriptions of feeding on guinea pigs.
Now, I do not want to imply that Adams is entirely derivative, because she's definitely not. She added her own unique bits of lore for the novel. For example, I am really fascinated by her distinctions between born and made vampires. In fact, I would love to have a discussion about the logistics of this. Mostly, I want to know how the born vampires first came into being, since they can only come from a born vampire. Of course, I can accept that, since it's really a chicken-or-the-egg argument.
Adams also did something pretty hilarious with the garlic part of the legend, although I'll leave that as a surprise. Another change from tradition to watch for are the werewolves. They made a definite impression. Additionally, I quite enjoyed Adams' writing style. I only wish that the book had had slightly better editing, as several errors got through to the Kindle version.
Dawn was a fantastic main character. She's so powerful; seriously, there are probably like two people in the world who could take her in a fight...if that. She doesn't need anyone's protection. However, Dawn is also quite naive. She's been sheltered for all 19 years of her life, which has the end result of making her act a little silly where boys are concerned. Even then, though, she doesn't do anything stupid, because she's a smart, cautious girl.
ReVamped was a great read, better than a lot of the vampire-centered books I've read. If you like strong heroines, humor and like to support debut authors, go get yourself a copy of this gorgeous new book. Seriously, check that cover! (
