Tansy lives with her fiancé Justin, but time is racing by and she is beginning to despair of ever getting married or having babies. Then Tansy learns a shocking secret which pretty much destroys any feelings she has for Justin. So she goes to live with her elderly and much-loved great aunt who is becoming quite frail, and makes plans to turn her aunt's small shoe shop into a specialist wedding shoe shop.

Before long, Tansy finds herself on bad terms with her new neighbour Ivo, who - by coincidence - is an old flame of hers. He has recently lost his wife and seems to be plunged into the depths of despair. Alongside Tansy's story, there are some anecdotes from her great aunt's past which give a little depth to the story.

It took me a few days to get into this book, but by the time I was half-way through, I was becoming more and more interested - despite mild irritation at an over-abundance of exclamation marks. An added bonus is that this story references some characters from a previous book - Chocolate Wishes, although it's not necessary to have read that first.

Overall, this was pleasant light reading, somewhere between a village saga and chick-lit, with the bonus of no bad language. ( )

A bit of romance, a bit of escapism, what's not to like. See my review http://www.dnsmedia.co.uk/reviews/bookreviews/934 ( )
