misleading title - actually "a collection of 23 hilarious, honest and heartfelt stories about raising children that help parents teach lessons about core values such as faith, honesty, courage, hard work, perseverance and love." Quite good. ( )

O'Dwyer's different accounts manage to succinctly mirror my childhood experiences. It successfully encapsulates the very essence of what we all go through growing up. A brief, enjoyable read. ( )

I felt that the content didn’t fit the title. The stories of family dynamics were amusing and held my interest right through the whole book. It was a good book, I enjoyed reading it, but it could have had a better title. ( )

As the title might suggest, this is not another advice preaching book........in fact far from it.
Starbuck is a very talented writer who, with this book, will take you on a nostalgic journey.
This book is an easy to read collection of short stories about the authors experiences of growing up in the 70's/80's in a very light hearted manner.
Although it's the authors own account you will surely relate to and remember your own childhood......and it will make you laugh and also touch your heart all at the same time. I also love how each story conveys a worthy message. ( )

This is nice look at how your childhood shapes you. Fun stories about his growing up in the 70's and 80's. It does make you think that maybe kids today have a bit too much technology and not enough imagination or family time.

I received a copy of this book from Library Thing and Starbuck O'Dwyer in exchange for an honest review. ( )
