An afterthought... Elizabeth Peters writes good clean mysteries in the Amelia Peabody series. Her son Rameses, who appears a couple books down the way, is ornery and precocious and might appeal to a preteen reader.

I finished my ER yesterday, though I haven't written my review yet. I started a reread of The Crocodile on the Sandbank this morning. Although Sherlock Holmes I've been reading on gutenberg has put me in a mood for the Emersons.

I finished American Sphinx and decided to give up on A short history of nearly everything. Now I'm listening to Crocodile on the Sandbank and reading Ultimate Unofficial guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter.

... Book of Lost Things, but it is a really great story! It is violent in the Grimms fairy tales sort of way. I started Crocodile on the Sandbank last night and it is hilarious! I love it! Yet another great book I heard about through LT.

YAY!!! I've read Crocodile on the Sandbank But I've never read A Tale of Two Cities

I've read Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians But I've never read Crocodile on the Sandbank.

Started Crocodile on the Sandbank at lunch today. After that, not sure. Either something totally engrossing (Mists of Avalon perhaps?) or fun rereads (Harry Potter probably). There will definitely be some seasonal reads, such as The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, A Christmas Memory, ...

After taking an extended holiday break from reading, I will soon be starting Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters for my December book club read. I am also beginning Watch for the Light for my Advent/Christmas read. Slowly but surely still reading Best Food Writing 2001.
