In the end of Lil's Way, Jade and Ted find their mother Lil clutching the dead body of Jenny. We are left to assume that Lil murdered Jenny in the heat of passion.

Of course, there is always more to the story. As Dr. Miller counsels Lil in her current state, the traumas of her past reveal that when anxious or fearful that Lil escapes reality and "Ted" takes over. Is it possible that Lil murdered Jenny and has no memory of it? Confident that he can get Lil released from prison on insanity charges, Dr. Miller finds himself torn at what to do...as he finds himself in love with Lil. The probability of Lil being released from prison to live out her life in an institution are high. Jade and Dr. Miller both want Lil to come home.

Ted is torn between his affections with his adoptive mother and his sister, Jade. He finds himself further torn apart when his mother reveals her past...and other secrets begin to unravel more shocking than the one's before. It seems that Ted's the paths of his "mothers" are both tainted in unimaginable ways. ( )
