The first time I read this book was 02/25/2018. Although I recall liking this biographical story, and even watched the movie version, for whatever reason I did not give it a rating or review. For those not familiar with James Bowen's story, he befriends a stray cat who is injured and nurses him back to health. Ultimately though, Bowen credits the ginger cat he names Bob, with saving his life.

Fast forward to 2022 and I decided to listen to the audio version this time around and thought the narration by Kristopher Milnes was excellent. Since I was already familiar with the story, I did multitask and listen to the audio while doing other things. If you enjoy inspirational stories and like cats, or even animals in general, I'd recommend this book. Mr. Bowen wrote several other books relating to Bob and I'd recommend them also. ( )

Absolutely fabulous book. Quick-paced and witty, I laughed, cheered and cried at the end reading this book that was really hard to put down. Cats tend to choose their humans and I think this bond was meant to be. I have known for quite some time Bob unfortunately passed away a few months ago after getting hit by a car when he escaped his home one night, and it is a feeling of loss that hopefully will not haunt poor James forever.

Thank you for opening your heart to a homeless little critter and your story has inspired the world. I'd love to read the sequel book sometime! ( )

Good story of a London busker trying to remain off the heroin addiction by using methadone. He is befriended by a cat who follows him to his position as he sings and strums. He begins providing for the cat, thus beginning a new life for the man. Eventually a book and a movie are made with their story. Nice book. ( )
