This is one of the most authentic Revolutionary War era books for young readers presented in a nonjudgmental view from many perspectives! I recommend you peak in on Joey and his family as they struggle to survive during a ruthless war.
Classroom Use: Draw a picture of what you think the battlefield Joey's father fought in would look like before and after the battle. Discuss the feelings Joey may have had and how you would feel. ( )
