Emma is a cafe owner who is targeted by unknown people. Her brother is trying to keep her safe so he asks his ex-military colleague Jake to assist. Emma and Jake are attracted but Emma is keeping a big secret - she talks to a ghost !

The suspense part of this book is laughable which pulls down the rating for the rest. The motives of the bad guy are not really well established and he is a bit of a cartoon figure. Emma and her sisters are more believable and Jake is a fine alpha male hero with most of the usual characteristics of the type. The paranormal gifts of Emma and her sisters enhanced the book although I did find her ghost to be a bit cheesy.

A good enough read but nothing special. ( )

Delightfully cheesy. A light, paranormal romance with gorgeous girls, hot guys, and a bit of danger.
Jake is a private security expert, who happens to be visiting his army pal, Mike when Mike's sister Emma is attacked. Predictably, Jake turns into a bodyguard for Emma and they fall in love within a few hours (ok, two or three days). Jake has his hands full, trying to protect Emma, who has a tendency to run from problems. But when the chips are down, he comes through for her, for their happily ever after.
I wasn't expecting much from this book, just something to pass a few hours. There were some inconsistencies in the plot, and there was't much depth or complexity to either the characters or the plot, but it somehow works. Really, my feelings for the book are the first two- delightfully cheesy. ( )
