Peter Pan in Scarlet by Geraldine Mc Caughrean was an excellent authorized sequel. She evoked the feel of the original book, but the writing was up to today's standards of middle school level readers. she did not attempt to write exactly as Mr.Barrie did, but as he might have today. Peter Pan in Scarlet ... Bright and the Buckminster Boy, Esperanza Rising, Dust by Arthor Slade, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Hoot, Peter Pan in Scarlet, Miracle on 49th street by Mike Lupica, Paint the Wind...
These books appeal to a wide range 10yrs and up. ... (audiobook)

In 2004, the Great Ormond Street Hospital (holders of the rights to Pe ... I though Peter Pan in Scarlet was wonderfully done. It honored the first book, but talked to today's audience.
As an adult, I have to admit that I like Peter Pan in Scarlet better than Peter Pan and Wendy and I have recommended it to children and adults alike.
I especially enjoyed learning ... OK, I'm going to give this a try. We'll see how well it turns out! You can go here for my blog post about my challenge.

1. I'd heard there are a number of alternate Peter Pan series (I remember somebody dithering on about one called Peter Pan in Scarlet or somesuch, I think it's GLBT-related, I haven't read it...).
For some reason, and this sounds vaguely blasphemous even to me, I've been more interested in ... ... momentum (and therefore motivation to read it) the further into it I get. On the other hand, I've been listening to Peter Pan in Scarlet by Geraldine McCaughrean, and although I'm near the end I just can't be bothered to sit and listen to the rest of it. ... at that they all tolerated him was unbelivable. Nowadays, people would have been yelling at him to change.
Gave up on Peter Pan in Scarlet, just couldn't get into it. Peter Pan was just awful and I couldn't stand reading about him anymore.

Hmmmm, touchstones done seem to be loading too quickly. I'm currently reading aloud Peter Pan in Scarlet to my children. I'm not sure that any of us like it or not. In fact, we haven't touched it in several days.
