Work detailsGimme-Jimmy by Sherrill S. Cannon
None. None. Jimmy was the mean kid at school who always took what he wanted even if it didn't belong to him. He would take toys from girls and boys. He was a bully at home too. No one liked him. Every time he would snatch something from someone he would say “Gimme.” His dad explained that if he didn't stop taking things that didn't belong to him and saying the word “Gimme” that his hand would grow bigger and bigger. But of course Jimmy did not listen. He continued to take and when he did he would always say “Gimme.” It wasn't long before his hand grew and grew. He couldn't tie his shoes, or put on his jacket. He couldn't put on his new ball glove either. All the kids he picked at would laugh at Jimmy and the big hand he carries around with him. His father advises him to be more polite, refrain from using the word “Gimme” and perhaps we will earn the respect of his peers. Cannon always does a great job of teaching young readers how to be respectful and courteous to others. Teaching little ones with books can be an easy and fun way for kids to learn about manners. Humorous illustration bring readers right into the story and relating to the characters. Book Title: "Gimme Jimmy” Author: Sherrill S. Cannon Published By: Strategic Book Publishing Age Recommended: 3+ Reviewed By: Kitty Bullard Raven Rating: 5 Review: Delightful, adorable and hilarious. When little Jimmy Alexander is warned by his father that his unwillingness to share and his inability to politely ask for things will eventually cause him trouble, he refuses to listen. Until, of course, he realizes that every time he says the word ‘gimme’ his hand grows. Before long his hand is practically dragging along the floor and he begins to realize that he must change his ways before it is too late. Sherrill S. Cannon’s books have a fantastic way of telling a story in such a vivid and imaginative way that children will not only learn good morals from her books, but will want to read them and have them read to them, time and time again. If you are looking for the best possible story books for your child or grandchildren you must look for her books! I have fallen in love with them all and I know you will too! no reviews | add a review

Told in rhyme, it hits the nail on the head, even if perhaps it does it a few too many times. (
