Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0615514502, Hardcover)

Americans in Paris, writer Gertrude Stein and her partner, Alice B. Toklas, are asked by a friend to baby-sit their nephews Tom and Fritz. What results is an artful adventure to some of the famous sites of Paris as well as the savoring some of Alice's cooking! The story is loosely based on a chapter in the memoir of writer Fritz Peters, who as a boy in the 1920s went to school outside of Paris along with his brother Tom. The book, though designed as a children's picture book, is for all fans of Paris and the literary and artistic greats of Stein's Charmed Circle. The illustrations by Tom Hachtman, who created the comic strip Gertrude's Follies, which recounts the escapades of Stein and Toklas and their famous crowd, provide the perfect settings for this alliterative adventure.
