Book description
Lukas Vischer was a well-heeled amateur artist from Basel, Switzerland, best remembered as a noted collector of pre-Columbian artifacts in Mexico; his collection is housed in the Museum of Cultures Basel. This book calls attention to Vischer's life and art, especially his diaries, sketches, and watercolors concerning North American Indians, and his art portraying Mexicans and scenes of daily life in 1830s Mexico.
