Battle Lines: A Department 19 Novel (Department Nineteen) by Will Hill (LongDogMom)
LongDogMom: Although the Department 19 books are classified young adult, I honestly did not find the level of writing to be much different than in the adult books other than the main characters being teens and going through some growing pains about love and life and loyalty, etc. I think anyone who likes the Department 19 books would enjoy the Monster Hunters series by Larry Correia as they are both about secret agencies that train hard and use all their skills to take out monsters like vampires or werewolves or other things that are aiming to harm the human race.… (more)

A burly gun enthusiast writes an adventure novel about a burly hero that totes around big guns and kills even bigger monsters.

Too much fun to be a guilty pleasure. ( )

Got an infestation of monsters, vampires, goblins, shape shifters, shades, succubus, or werewolves? No worries, Monster Incorporated’s professionally trained monster exterminators will take care of those unwanted beasties. With the bounty on monsters hundreds of times that of bail skippers who wouldn’t strap on an RGP and head out to the nearest vampire nest? But not monsters are created equal and Owen Pitt is soon to find out that Heroes aren’t either!

I'm a 40something year old woman who loves historical fiction. I stumbled across this on audible.com and fell in love with the high octane action and quirky humor. This book has a little of everything, monsters of all type and sort, car chases, explosions, guns, and every imaginable weapon. All washed down with a large drink of snarky wit. Can Owen save the world and get the girl? Buckle up your helmet kiddies it's a hell of a ride. Do yourself a favor and read the first chapter where our humble hero Owen Z. Pitt will make you fall in love too. ( )
