Great story!! ( )

Small gifts keep appearing outside bear's cave! Who is leaving such nice, thoughtful presents? Could it be that cute little bear that looks suspiciously like a bunny?

This book is super cute. Good vocab for read-aloud time and songs you can make up a tune for and sing along with bear. ( )

Sometimes friends come in all shapes, sizes and species!
Bear and rabbit exchange gifts - carrots, honey, berries, cookies, chocolate, flowers! They each give something special to the other not even knowing who was who.
And when they discover each other - a bear and a rabbit - they really don't care about their differences.

This is a good book about sharing and doing something nice for others when they do something nice for you. I really enjoyed this book and think it is great for beginning readers. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0763645699, Hardcover)

Could the bear have a secret friend? Who is leaving him surprises? The ever-lovable Daniel Pinkwater spins a funny and sweetly offbeat story.

One morning, the bear finds something just outside his cave. It is orange and long and pointy and has bushy green leaves at one end. And it’s sweet and crunchy! Where did it come from? Did someone leave it for him? Then there are two more of the sweet crunchy things the next morning! The bear knows that someone nice is leaving him these treats. If only he could discover who it is! Should he leave something tasty in return? With the help of Will Hillenbrand’s endearing illustrations, the inimitable Daniel Pinkwater spins a charming little mystery about unexpected kindnesses and finding that extra-special someone.

(retrieved from Amazon Mon, 30 Sep 2013 13:32:26 -0400)

A bear with a secret admirer who leaves sweet, crunchy treats outside his cave each night tries to repay the kindness with honey, but comes to find out that his new friend is smaller, cuter, and fonder of carrots than any bear.
