Sad that the only biography I can track down on Bill Finger is this graphic novel written for grade school kids. The man who created so much of the Batman mythos deserves vastly better than this.

That said, if you know nothing about Bill Finger, this is a good place to start. ( )

I liked “Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman” for two reasons. First, I liked that this book was created for children. Many Children know about different super heroes, especially batman, but not many people know about Bob, the artist behind the whole book. Milton(Bill) let a lot of other people take the credit of his work and I don’t think many people know that. Second, I like that this book includes the other accomplishments that Bill achieved. For example, being able to quit his job as a shoe salesman, and the creation of Cat-woman, Robin, and the Joker.
The purpose of this book is to introduce Milton, a Jewish boy who changed his name to Bill. Bill met Bob Kane and helped co-create Batman. He had a “secret identity” with great success. ( )

So Bill Finger is the co creator of Batman. This picture book talks about his contributions to Batman and other people's attempts to get him recognized as co creator since he himself was not very focused on it. I found the whole thing very interesting and hope that someone does an adult book on him soon. The authors notes about tracking down both and heir and photos of Bill were also very interesting. ( )

Book description
This is the true story of how Batman began.

Every Batman story is marked with the words "Batman created by Bob Kane." But that isn't the whole truth. A struggling writer named Bill Finger was involved from the beginning. Bill helped invent Batman, from concept to costume to character. He dreamed up Batman's haunting origins and his colorful nemeses. Despite his brilliance, Bill worked in obscurity. It was only after his death that fans went to bat for Bill, calling for acknowledgment that he was co-creator of Batman.

Based on original research, Bill the Boy Wonder is the first-ever book about the unsung man behind the Dark Knight.
