A most inspirational book that gives the reader step-by-step directions on how to live a life, fully alive. Logical and reasonable explanations with hundreds of scriptures from the Bible to explain how easy it is to believe the lie and never think twice about what is reality and what is not. Supported with great analogies that cause the spirit within you to rise up and begin to fight back for what is rightfully mine as a child of the King.
Only the second book that I've thirsted after and gotten the audio version!!!! ( )

This is a good book if you can get past the first four chapters. It took me a really really long time to read past the first four chapters but once I did it really picked up and I thought was an enjoyable book. It is a book that shows you that we are meant for adventure and a fulfilled life. ( )

I found this book very much resonates with my experience and what it means to live the life God means for us to live. That's not to say that it's especially prescriptive, as I find many books on Christian Spirituality are. What it does is to restore an understanding about the adventurous story we are born to live and why we shouldn't be surprised when life is really hard. I've read and re-read it several times and find in it a level of insight and wisdom that is really rare these days . ( )

Bar none, the best treatment of the importance and power of the gospel for this life (not just for eternity). I have read this book four times and I don't recall reading any other book that many times. A life changer! ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0785261656, Paperback)

There is a glory to life that most people-including believers-never see. In this insightful new book, John Eldredge presents the heart as central to life. Not only is the heart essential; the heart God has ransomed is also good. Building on these foundational truths, Eldredge shows readers why real Christianity is a process of restoration, where the broken parts of our hearts are mended and the captive parts are set free.

Waking the Dead leads listeners to understand how to live from the heart, care for their heart like the treasures of the kingdom, and give from fullness instead of emptiness. This message also shows how living from the heart can energize people to love God and others in a way they've never experienced, revealing to them life's purpose: fighting for the hearts of others.
