This book is for primary to intermediate aged students. This book contains a collection of poetry about each state of the United States and the natural & manmade wonders about each area.
This book is a good introduction to poetry as each student can find their state or states they know to read first. Great combination of both poetry and geographical facts.

The illustrations are lovely. I like that at the beginning of each section, it gives some facts about the states the poems are about. I think this book would be great if it had an accompanying audio disc to listen to the poems being read aloud. ( )

Although this is a book intended for children, I believe it should seen and read by all ages. The illustrations are beautiful, and the words are of togetherness and what America should represent. I would and will use this book in my classroom of any age. ( )

I enjoyed reading this book for a variety of reasons. First, I liked that the author included one poem about every state in America. Each poem beautifully highlights something unique about its state. I felt including one poem about each state was a truly one of a kind idea that enhanced the overall message of this work. In addition, I liked that this book had pages that included factual information about this state. Even though this was a poetic book I liked that the author was able to diversify it by adding important factual information. The overall message of this book is that even though each state is different all of the states are united under core American values. Although the states are great on their own, they are even better united. ( )
