The world of Ancient Rome revealed in an interesting combination of well illustrated and explained historical fact with a 'graphic novel' continuing throughout the pages which brings the ideas and concepts of the book alive. A great way to teach history to young readers. ( )

While reading a cartoon strip that borders the pages, we learn lots of facts from explanations about the great illustrations in the center. The book focuses on slavery versus citizenship in the Roman Empire, and also has a lot of views of interiors of buildings and how they relate to lives styles. ( )
