I like this book for any age group of students, an individual reading book for a fourth grade class or a read a loud for first or second. This is a good book for a first or second grade class to hear as a read a loud once and go over the different animals in it and then allow the students to explore it on their own. This book presents good information about ocean life in a simple, chronological order with very engaging pictures for the students to follow along. This could also be available for a fourth or fifth grade class in a classroom library. It provides good information for a science project on marine life. It also provides good examples of text features like table of contents, headings, subtitles, charts, glossary and an index.
